As a Christian who wants to learn more about the 'Mother Faith' and as someone who has a great respect for my Jewish friends - this book has been a wonderful introduction.
Well worth buying.

A good introductory reader

A comprehensive treatment of the different ideas and beliefs expressed in the Talmud. Abraham Cohen manages to collect and order the views expressed over the huge span of the Talmud, and condense them into one invigorating encyclopedia of wisdom. My only gripe is that, while the book describes the viewpoints expressed, it does not go into much detail about how the Sages reach those conclusions, the diversity and the debate behind the opinions. I suppose that would make the book a couple times bigger though. Oh well, there's no Talmud like the real Talmud!
