Don Camillo and Peppone , the two main characters in this book of short stories are remarkably human , amazingly stubborn and their encountrs are absolutely hilarious. Even a non-political atheist would appreciate the irony and satire used so brilliantly in the book. The author uses Christ as the Voice of Reason and the concept of using God as a sympathetic and undersdtanding individual touches a chord deep in your heart , whatever your religion may be. A very very readable pageturner !
