Customer Reviews:
Depends what you want it for
I think Hannah herself would be great fun - I'd happily go drinking with her and she sounds lovely. But the book really annoyed me. I guess it depends why you're buying it - and I was buying it to help me with the motivation to lose weight. I could hear myself whining some of her excuses all too easily - which I guess was a wake up call - but I found it frustrating that her endless litany of excuses meant that the book seemed inconclusive and slightly, defensively, apologetic about her love of food triumphing over her desire to be slimmer.
Great little gift for most women you know
A humorous - at times, laugh-out-loud - but heartfelt account of one woman's ongoing struggle with society's obsession with appearance and how she should deal with it: let's face it, most of us have been there and probably still are. Gloriously witty and searingly honest Hannah Jones is the self-doubting - although never self-pitying - dieting everywoman but with an extraordinary knack of combining funny with touching. The format means you can snack on Diary of a Diet, dipping in and out at the end of busy days but, be warned, you may find yourself gorging from cover to cover in one delicious midnight feast!
A Little Book of Big
A brilliant book! The best book that i have read this year! Why is this woman not on TV? Cant wait for the next installment!
Not bad looking but with a big, fat arse - the book
This is a book that eats up the size zero debate for breakfast and coughs it back up with a side of comedy carbs. It's in turns hilarious, heart-felt, witty, wise, silly, sad, enlightening, brilliant. It's not a diet book in the conventional sense of the word as it won't tell you what NOT to eat in order to optimise weight loss. It's basically the hilarious story of what it's like being big in a small world, of the author finding fun and tragedy in being in a world where "normal" sized girls are always asking her if their bum looks big - asking someone who claims not to have seen their feet since 1971!

You won't be able to put it down, I promise, as Hannah's stories of the diets she's loved to hate and not lost anything on resonate. It's also filled with big tales about her nearest and dearest, a funny bunch you wish you could sit down and have a laugh and joke with.

Trust me, this will find resonance with anyone who's ever felt the need to weigh out their chips... along with their self-esteem. I'm tiny, and I laughed like a drain. Roll on number two! Hannah's the Valleys answer to Victoria Wood. Why isn't she on the telly? Check out her website (www.hannahjones.net) for more of her musings - you'll be too busy chuckling to get to the fridge.
