Excellent guide

A good straightforward guide to all the essentials for the novice and perhaps a good refresher for the more experienced golfer. Good explanation of the scoring and handicapping systems. A great help and highly recommended by this novice golfer. Thanks Paige.

A terrific present

A handy little book suitable for all golfers, but especially aimed at the beginner. Keep it in your pocket, in your golf bag, by your bedside - you'll always want to dip into it to answer your golfing queries. A terrific present!

I have found this book to be extremely valuable as I am a newcomer to golf.It has informed me of all the things I need to know about joining a club, what to do first, who to see at the club house, without beeing embarrased at the first hurdle.I have been used to pay & play courses, now I can feel confident about joining a club.

Author's response to Eddie Pain
|
I note the comments by Eddie Pain(Reviewer?)and am pleased that at least half of the book tells him things he didn't already know. This is a result as the glossary alone contains over one hundred golfing terms, explanations and definitions!
Dedicated readers (those taking more than a few minutes) will note that the very first sentence in the book is "This book is a guide to golfing beginners....." The three items mentioned by EP are all of particular interest to beginners!
Golfers of all ages and handicaps have praised the contents of the book and expressed pleasure at finding answers to their questions and problems. This is confirmed by sales figures.

Pages and Pages of Extraneous Superfluous Fluff
|
|
Conent padded out by silly items like what is a carry bag; how to relax; what is a municiple course .... and many, many more pages of similar fluffy items. Only about half the book relates to the content given in title. I returned my copy within minutes of receiving it.
