Outstanding sense of size w/out losing detail

This is a coffee-table book half the size of a coffee table. As someone with a substantial interest in very large format aerials of the Earth, this is the only book I have seen which gives a good impression of the size of the Earth's surface without sacrificing detail. This is partly due to its format, partly to its excellent organization. The images can hold one's gaze for a long time, because the fine detail is there in the midst of immense expanses. I bought two copies at a local shop for my great niece & nephew. This is an increasingly rare find.

Stunning

There have been photo books of satellite imagery of the earth before, but I've not seen one to compete with this one. It's simply stunningly beautiful. The size helps the resolution and impact of the high quality images reproduced throughout the book. They are all printed in high quality on heavy duty paper and with informative but minimal text. It's the photographs themselves which are the subject of the book however and more text would have left less room for the imagery. It's a very large format book and quite heavy so a strong coffee table is needed - and a long time to enjoy the exquisite images on almost every page.
