What is missing?

An extraordinary book which surely inspires all that read it however I was slightly disappointed to realise quite a bit was missing especially from the time the author spent living and working in South Yorkshire. If the gaps were filled it would, I am sure, fascinate the reader and give an even truer vision of this remarkable man. The time and effort he devoted to the young daughter of a neighbour was quite exceptional though probably not unique - I am sure he shared his wide and wonderful experiences with many others and helped educate and teach them many new things.

Not just a sports biography but a story of an honest decent man to rise above the restrictions placed on him by his colour and class. The story of the growth of a man into a hero by using rugby league as a way of expressing himself. So much better than the average sports biography.
