This book is probably the best book you will ever buy if you are trying to control/lose weight. It focuses heavily on the fact that 'fad' diets do not work in the long-term, and that it is only 'slight' changes you need to make to your lifestyle in order to be healthy. It emphasises the fact that foods should not be 'forbidden', as this is a sure downfall to any diet. You won't feel guilty about eating a chocolate biscuit, as long as you stick within your daily calorie allowance. The way that this book is set out, gives the opportunity to make healthy food-swaps. It gives advice on finding your ideal target weight, and also how to reach this target healthily, without falling back into bad habits.

This book really is a bible! Enjoy treats in your diet without guilt! Shows you how to calculate your daily calorie intake target (more than I thought it would be) and how to use exercise to speed weight loss or increase your rewards. Gives values of most brand lables, supermarket foods and eating out too! eg Starbucks, Pret a Manger and JD Wetherspoon. You will need to jot down intakes until you get used to it though, lots of numbers. The book provides a handy chart for you to photocopy. You will need, as with any diet, LOTS of willpower.
