Customer Reviews:
Twenty something...
Marginally insightful, stereotypical and predictable ending - could have been better. Grabbing title but somewhat low on substance. Some parts were quite witty hence the three stars. I would give it three and a half.Buy it secondhand rather than new!
Poor
This guy just drones on and on and on about the same old things; I got to page 62 and simply could take it no longer. I skipped to the end and read the last chapter - which is also disappointing, and very predictable.

The book also has snap-shots (called thus because anyone with a camera could have taken them, no photographic skill was required) on most pages. This is novel, but really adds nothing to the book. The photos look like the authors attempt to patch up his weak effort at a plot and confuse the reader - well they must be art, after all they're in black-and-white!

If you're interested in city related reads, try Liar's Poker, Monkey Business or Bombardiers.
Hugely Disappointing
Great title - but an absolute shocker. A novel that is just over 100 pages long and a photograph every couple of pages - maybe this explains the one-dimensional characters. I struggled to muster the enthusiasm to finish this child size book. It's as if it's written by someone who has never set foot in the city but has an outdated concept of what the world of high finance might be like. Dreadful.
Excellent!
I loved this book, the tale of Dave Hart is deliciously wicked and very entertaining. I have absolutely no knowledge of the world of high finance and I was slightly worried I would be bamboozled by lots of technical jargon. I need not have worried, any jargon is kept to a minimum, in favour of dirty dealing and back stabbing as the tale unfolds. All in all a very good read!
A definitive text !
This excellent short novel- ideal for City-types with limited time for such non-remunerative activites as reading- has it all. Clearly written with the benefit of first-hand knowledge of the excesees of the only season that matters in the world of unctious City reptiles, it combines pace, venom and more than a few twists and turns with a top format- including excellent photography- which would not leave it out of place on a Notting Hill coffee table. Top marks.
