Customer Reviews:
Doug Laughton A Dream Come True
Read this cracking book during my flight to Australia and it was riveting. A fantastic read by a true rugby league legend.A former fisher and more school boy and a true chemic. Any true rugby league fan will love it !!!!
A Widnes fan must read book
If you are a big Widnes fan . You must read this book . Even if you are not Chemic \ Viking fan . It is still a great read and hard to put down . It will make you laugh , think and amaze you (Offiah & nearly became Wigan's coach especially) in parts . Go on take the risk ?
Rugby League Legend...with laughs
I can only assume the Leigh fan hasn't read this book properly. Doug clearly states he was sent home from the GB tour and subsequently never played for them again due to his long standing knee injury.

The Goulding incident is in fact discussed too. This book is a great read for anyone with an interest in Rugby League and some of Doug's humour is laugh out loud stuff.

Great Player/Manager......Awful Book
This could have been a great book. Laughton has so much to tell - what a great career with the great rugby clubs. But so little is revealed here. Why was Doug sent home from the Ashes tour and never played for GB again? The true story with Bobbie Goulding is not revealed. There are no insights into his personal life beyond the rubbish about his 'plumbing business'.
Finally at 150 pages this book is well overpriced. The author even resorts to padding out the book with pages of statistics at the end. Great player...awful book
On the march with Duggies army!
A brilliant insight into the games best-ever coach.

I cant really add to what Vic King has wrote other than that, as a Liverpool fan, I see Doug Laughton in the same light as 'Sir' Bob Paisley, Shanks and King Kenny.

I would recommend the book to any fan of any sport.
