This is a straightforward book and CD aimed at the person who wants to reduce drinking, rather than those who need to stop altogether. In a non-nonsense, accessible style it helps the reader understand why they drink (even when they don't really want to), and gives tips and techniques for avoiding being in an overdrinking rut. It is coherent, with illustrations from the author's practice, but is not just a load of anecdotes. It comes with an effective hypnosis CD. Basically it's a route to being back in charge, enjoying the odd drink if you really want, and leaving the hangovers and remorse behind.

This book and accompanying CD was fantastic. The effects were quite dramatic and yet very subtle. It was also a very amusing read, and an easy one. I agree what she says as my drink intake decreased I saw how I used alcohol to mask those moments. Georgia doesn't claim that the book is a revelation - it just helps you gain confidence and it gave my social drinking patterns perspective. Well worth the read!
