I bought this book for my Mum, who thought she might be coeliac (essentially where your own gut attacks itself after ingesting wheat protein) when she was diagnosed with anaemia. Having made a few recipes out of it for myself, I felt better as a result. We weren't made to eat so much gluten, and it has only been in our diet for a relatively short time. Bread has only been the staff of life for a few thousand years! Anyway, this is a great book for ideas - I gave it 4 stars because it's not that thick. I like the way the author has cherry-picked Spanish food for it's healthy qualities. Top job. As a cautionary note, if you're diagnosed as being anaemic and the doctor thinks it's simply a diet thing, keep an eye on it. Other symptoms might suggest something more serious is going on in your colon, particularly the older you get, and it never hurts to get fully checked out. Be healthy!
