I am a newish ponder and recently purchased this book. I can honestly say it has helped me a great deal from stocking ponds to illness to identifying different types of Koi. The book is full of easy to understand information on creating a first time pond, also provides details on what types of filters and pumps to use, even goes as far as were the best site/place is to create the pond, full sun, shade or partial. Well worth the purchase.

It gives a good basic outline of the many aspects of owning koi rather than concentrating on any particular topic. So you are given a good basic knowledge of all areas, allowing you to fully understand what will actually be involoved with building your own pond and the eventual day to day care required for these fish.
