Very useful
|
|
History, legal information, planning guides, how to campaign. And loads of contact information. A friend lent it to me who has just used it with her group to set up an allotment committee, and I didn't want to give it back! I've never seen so much information on the legal etc side of allotments in one place like this. It's not very big, but packed with info and easy to read and understand the complicated planning and legal stuff.

A really useful book.

This is not designed to be yet another gardening book. Its subtitle is "a guide to promoting and protecting your site" and it is about the politics of allotments: how to deal with legal matters, how to make allotments part of a thriving community and how to protect them from greedy developers. It is the only book of its kind and it performs a great service.

Utter tosh

If you've just got yourself an allotment like me, this book tells you nothing about growing vegetables or how to maintain and look after your plot, it deals with the legal side of allotments and how to hold meetings for example.

Allotment Beginners

A great book for people just starting out or thinking about getting an allotment.I am a complete allotment beginner and the monthly things to do section is immensly useful to get me organised. The detailed section about what to grow is also very informative. The only downside of this book is the lack of pictures and colour. All in all a very useful book. Thankyou.
