Not quite the bite of a tiger
|
I bought this book recently and was a bit disappointed in it if I'm honest. Whilst there are some interesting anecdotes in it, on the whole I found the book to be a little disjointed and the author seems more intent on racial discussion than real tales of events in Tiger Bay. It is worth a read certainly, but it is not a book that will be keeping a place on my bookcase.
Also if you are looking for a fully up to date history of the Bay then this is not quite it, as purely because of it release date it does not cover from the building of the barrage and other recent developments. If you can only choose one book, dont make it this one, but as part of a collection or wider readings this would be a good addition.
