Herb Craft claims to be a guide to the shamanic use of herbs in the native (British) tradition. The uses suggested fall more comfortably into kitchen witchery and a conventional ritual pattern than ecstatic shamanism, but perhaps that's what they meant... This book's great strength is the vast mass of information around each herb - and there are lots. From how to recognise them - invaluable if out gathering wild plants - through cultivation, folklore, history, preparations, and magickal uses. The folklore in particular is excellent and richly detailed. At the end are a number of useful correspondence tables tying certain herbs to days, elements, planets, gods, etc. This isn't the best herbal for making remedies, and to get a good magickal use out of it you'll have to have had some experience before - at least in basic casting. But there is a *lot* of information here and it's well presented.
