Customer Reviews:
An Excellent Book
This is a deep and thought provoking book full of great advice for anyone wanting to improve thier life or to get in touch with the spiritual element. It's very detailed and exact - a excellent book!
It should be required reading for all hypnotherapists
I've been planning to read this book for years before I actually got to it and I'm very glad I read it. One of the reasons I was postponing reading this book is that I generally don't rush to buy "channelled" books - there are very few of those that I really like and this one is one of them.

It's a good book from from the perspective of psychology, metaphysics, and hypnosis - and even if you are well-versed in these areas and you know them inside out, you can still benefit from reading this book.

The book deals in great depth with beliefs. As a hypnotherapist and metaphysician, I am extremely well-aware of the role they play in creating one's experience of reality and it is amazing that there are no hypnosis books that have dealt so thoroughly and insightfully with beliefs (nope, not even Dilts' book on Beliefs).

Now that I've read this book - I think it should be a required reading for all hypnotherapists.
Good metaphysical stuff
Well, if you are tired of reading usual metaphysical books or usual channeled material, go to this.
However it is a quite dense material, useful for understanding the nature of how consciousness works, but not in the usual way we are used to read of.
Has plenty of material related to consciousness alterations, changes, traumas, conscious/unscouscious, etc...
Whose reality is it anyway?
Seth, through the medium of Jane Roberts informs us of the "true" nature of "reality". What is reality anyway? This book can help you decide. Tired of the one-sided view of the world? Let this book help you find another one. Understand that each one of us views the world through a belief system that can also affect our experiences. eg I believe that people are good, kind and generous. In my Life I generally meet people who are good, kind and generous. However if I believed that people were mean, cruel and hurtful, I'm sure I would attract people who act in this way. Your expectations help form your reality. Understand this and you may make different choices in Life and may be able to change that which you do not like about your Life. This book explains how. I cured myself from endometriosis with a meditation from this book! (Endo is incurable!)
Serious metaphysics and reality creation
If you are more than trivially interested in what lies behind the scenes in metaphysics and reality creation then this book is well worth considering. Forget its provenance - just read it. It is the first of the Seth books I ever read and I am always sceptical of channeled material, however after a few pages my doubts were gone.

If you want an easier introduction then you might like to try Lynda Dahl's books based on the Seth readings. Take these in the order in which she wrote them: Beyond The Winning Streak, Ten Thousand Whispers finishing with The Wizards Of Consciousness.

If you want background Seth material then try The Seth Material and Seth Speaks.

The Nature Of Personal Reality is not the easiest of books. Seth does not talk down to those expecting new age, simplistic or unthinking presentation. However it is readable, interesting and practical.

Seth explains how our beliefs affect what happen to us. We create what we perceive, individually and collectively. He tells how to identify limiting beliefs and how to change our way of thinking. I've tried over the last few years and any problems have been mine not of Seth's teaching.

Seth explains the how and why of the physical world. There is so much more on metaphysics in his other books, some of it quite difficult to understand and come to terms with. Nonetheless it is worth studying. If the serious side of this metaphysics interests you, then you may wish to read Norman Friedman's books: Bridging Science And Spirit and The Hidden Domain. This material is very deep, touching on philosophy and quantum physics, but don't let that put you off the practicalities! You don't need to understand physics to choose the TV channels you want to watch or the reality you want to create.

Coming from a scientific background, I question and cogitate. I've researched religion and new age philosophies. For me, this is the end of my search and the beginning of my enlightenment.

In Seth's terms, if you've read this and you feel inside, even ever so slightly, it worth pursuing then follow your feelings. If you feel slightly daunted by the word metaphysics then read Lynda Dahl's books first but do read The Nature Of Personal Reality.
