Not just for footie fans!
|
This is a highly entertaining read- Adrian (or 'Belch', as he likes to be known) writes with intelligence and wit about his fascinating personal experiences while hitch-hiking around Britain. Many of the stories and encounters with real people whilst on the road sound like the stuff of fiction, but all are genuine, unembellished, and captured for posterity.
Just as fanatical about his music, Belch manages to name-drop many an obscure 70s prog-rock outfit (Gentle Giant etc) or 'superbendypronk' combo (ie the mighty Cardiacs). Fans of complicated music will take just as much pleasure from this book, and will understand his passion/devotion as much as football fans will feel his elation/suffering!
