By virtue of being the first biography of Montoya this is the best on the market; I don't expect it to remain alone, neither do I expect it to remain the best! It's a typical Hilton book - seemingly pieced together largely from press releases, magazine interviews and library photographs with minimal (zero?) involvement from its subject. JPM's early life and career up to F3000 is covered sketchily, his CART years get relatively short shrift and really it degenerates into an 'and then they went to Monza' race by race account of his Williams years. There almost no little insight into Montoya the man - particularly disappointing since he's probably one of the most individualistic drivers in F1 at the moment. Only really worth it for absolutely committed Montoya fans. Hilton is capable of much better than this when he puts his mind to it - his Nuvolari book is magnificent, as is his book on the pre-War Donington GPs. Montoya deserves better.
