One of the best Histories of ITV in the Midlands
|
The book is a must for anyone who has an interest in British television and how it evolved locally in the Midlands region of ITV. From the early years of ATV into the Central Television era and the end of major production in the region in its final Carlton Broadcasting years.
The book has lots of information from a man who was there at the time and saw it happen, so there are lots of details and information that may not be otherwise known about the local productions. There are also lots of technical details included also on how television equipment works.
The book is only slightly marred by the odd factual error and the fact the CITV section of the publication has been lifted entirely from a website with seemingly no credit to the original author anywhere in the book.
Over all an interesting read, lots of information on ITV in the Midlands, and more so the people and programmes that were beamed from the ATV studios over 40 years.
