This well written book is both thought provoking and stylish in equal measures, and wakens the reader to a world not of flat surfaces but of embiggened objects such as cats and holes. Dredge begins with a description of a grey square, written in drab HTML code and ends with the scent of lemongrass wafting from a rotating hut in Vientien. How? Simply through his description of the evolution from flat objects to 3D ones - much like paper into an oragami flower or an alien removing his 4D glasses - but in reverse. There is much merit in this book, more than rival texts on 3D web graphics, but its shorcoming lies in the absence of pop up images - something that seems obvious even to the most hardened idiot. Nevertheless I look forward to the next Dredge, almost as much as sunshine in Spring or a nice hot bath.
