It is said that sarcasm is the lowest form of wit. If that is true then cynicism must be the second lowest form. Despite the caustic effect of many of these quotations, most are quite humorous,especially if they are used judiciously in the right context and at the right moment. There are quotations on a variety of subjects. The range is not too extensive, however, and admittedly, many are familiar(especially among quotation book fans). However, the given quotations in many cases represent the most humorous and witty quip on certain subjects. In fact the author has compiled a reasonable collection of remarks that are full of wit (other people's wit). One or two of the least familiar quotes could certainly help liven up a speech or lecture. If you like books of sarcastic insults by famous people then this is the book for you. If you want a more comprehensive book of witty quotations (that span all subject not just a limited selection) then perhaps some other Amazon titles may be more appropriate.

Funny little portable pieces of thought (great book!)

Although it could do with a few hundred more quotations, it's a really fun book. Some of the quotations are not actually humorous, simply accurate observations.
This book is essential for anyone who gives speeches, needs good opening lines, or just wants to be serious and funny at the same time.
