i really like the characters in this book,very understanding,especially the klingon which you dont usually find,jim kirk is having a hard time without the enterprise and the writer gets this across well,especially when kirk is minipulated into taking a job in public relations ,you feel that the old kirk would not have given in this easily,the story moves at a reasonable pace and the book ends well with kirk and crew doing what hes best at.
