This book has nothing going for it.
I was expecting a well written exposé of the Rock 'n Roll business. What it is is a badly written rant by a former employee of Atlantic Records who has nothing to say, and no secrets to impart.
Where are the stories of the rock star and the secretaries? Whare are the tales of extravagance? Where are the inside revelations on the turpitude of the music business? Nothing - the stories (and there aren't many) are those of a standard middle manager within a bland corporation. In fact, Ed Kennedy could have been working for a soap manufacturer or a big shop.
In addition, his writing style is mid-adolescent: the moments-where-he-writes-sentences-with-hyphens-to-make-things-sound-profound-are-extremely-irritating.
And ignore the blurbs: no big laughs, no laugh-out loud moments.
I did finish the book though, and the end was a relief.
