The end of time

Very little of this book is actually about the Mayan prophecies. It is really a history of the Mayans interspersed with details regarding other civilisations, which makes for disjointed and confusing reading. A lot of the theories expressed in this book are really quite fanciful and seem to be based on the flimsiest of circumstantial evidence. The book is entitled 'The End of Time' all I wanted to do was get to the end of the book so I could find a decent book to read.

A remarkable and thought provoking book.
|
A truly remarkable book thoroughly investigated and produced by arguably one the world's greatest delvers into the understanding of the ancient past, its peoples and what it means to us today. Adrian doesn't worry about tackling subjects that many academics would run away from screaming, largely because he can often see the bigger picture and not just the narrow niches that we often paste ourselves into in these modern times.
The concepts and consequences seem at first extremely worrying but at the same time you get a warm feeling as they make perfect sense. It is well laid out, easy to understand and extremely thought provoking. This book should be read by not only everyday people but also the scientific community as a whole. While there is still time....
