Fallout from Infinite Crisis
|
During the events of the Infinite Crisis, the Brotherhood of Evil dropped the chemical giant Chemo on the city of Blüdhaven, causing massive destruction and leaving thousands dead. In response to the disaster the US government quarantined Blüdhaven, building a wall around the city limits and keeping everyone out, former residents and superheroes alike. One year on and Blüdhaven is still a wasteland but the sinister government organisation S.H.A.D.E. is now using the city to conduct experiments, the Society of Super-Villains is sending teams to investigate the ruins, mysterious armoured figures appear to help survivors of the blast and the refugees surrounding the city are growing restless and the Teen Titans are caught in the middle.
This storyline, that concludes one of the loose ends from the Infinite Crisis, is enjoyable and readable but it just seems to lack something that would make it a great story. The artwork is good if not spectacular and the characterization and scripting is generally competent, although the introduction of Replicant did seem somewhat too easy. This storyline also sets things up nicely for the return of the Freedom Fighters and although I am not a great fan of that super-team they way they are going with them in this story does seem quite interesting. Overall this was a good read that winds up the story of Blüdhaven quite nicely.
