A different kind of biography!
Pleasantly, a different kind of biography that celebrates a life through the stories told by those that have special memories of the superstar, George Best, who never moved away from being a people person. An interesting read for all ages without the need to plough through from cover to cover. Dip-in to any of the 80+ stories written in a natural, 'gossipy' way that makes you feel as if the authors are having a chat with you. Great photographs of some really interesting items that relate to the stories, plus some lovely colour pictures of the man himself. A highly recommended read for anyone - not just the footy fans out there.

Simply the Best !

How refreshing to read real stories about real people`s memories of George Best and to have so many pictures spread throughout the book rather than all together in three or four sections.Using people`s memorabilia to retrace the steps of the life of this football genius and well loved personality add a new and real dimension to events in George`s life with which we are familiar and others that we discover through the stories shared. With what appears to be about eighty separate stories I found it really good to read one at random put it down and then look forward to picking it up again and reading another. Each story selects a moment in time in George`s life and as you read more a picture emerges of the quite truly amazing world this footballer genius had to weave his way through on and off the pitch.I always loved forward to watch him play and now feel fortunate to gain an insight into why over 100,000 attended his funeral and why millions all over the world watched it on television.
