Fantastic

I was a bit dubious about this book when I first got it. I find that many indian cook books have recipies which aren't authentic, also one of the picture of beef curry looked like dog food to me and it put me off a little bit. Then one day when I was at a lose end and didn't know what to cook, I tried the chicken korma recipe and it was very easy and straight forward. The finished curry was fantastic, infact it was almost like how my mum makes it. Its also interesting to read some of the origins of the curries.
After that I tried a few more dishes, the fish kebab and onion bhajis were great too. Some of the dishes take longer to prepare then stated, like chicken dopiza, that took me about 45min-1hr longer but then again I am a beginner. One improvement I would suggest is that it would be better if there were pictures of all the dishes so that you have an idea of how its supposed to turn out.

We've had this book for about a year now, and use it twice a week. Pretty much every recipe produces a fantastic curry, and the separation of ingredients into bowls makes it really easy.
We own several curry books by other more famous authors but this is the best by far.

Impress your friends with real Indian food!

An excellent book which is more than just a cookery book. It also gives you an insight into the tradition and culture of family cooking in ASia and a real feeling that you are being given authentic "tips of the trade". This book is easy to use, the recipes are simple to follow and the results (for me) have always been outstanding and actually look like they should. Mahboob Momen has created an original concept in cooking traditional meals at home, combined with his spice and recipe pack (available from www.cookbynumbers.com) I no longer need to buy jars of curry sauce or ring up the take-away! Well done you've saved me a fortune!

Delicious and easy to cook indian dishes

The Cookbynumbers...Real Cooking Made Easy: Indian makes cooking real indian food really easy indeed. I have tried cooking several dishes for my family and friends and they love it. My kids favour the Chicken Tikka Masala, which has a great sauce. The tast of the dishes is authentic Indian and you can cook a broad variety of meat, seafood and vegetarian dishes. Cooking is pretty simple when you prepare the bowls (bynumbers 1.2.3.etc.)upfront. Preparation of course takes some time, but the result is great. If you like Indian food but are afraid of cooking this yourselves this book is a great start.
