..Get a brilliant journalist to write a biography on the said Archer and you have arguably the finest tome of its kind, a classic of the genre. Some would say that Crick's task was easy; after all, Archer's life has been as colourful as you can get. But one should dismiss such a view, as this surely undermines the remarkable research and unpretentious, but effective writing style...The book has been reprinted three times and will, doubtless, remain in print for as long as Archer is alive. And, yes, as many have said before, the plot of Archer's life is more believable than any of his ficition, and that is why I believe that Crick's book should be turned into a film...
