Customer Reviews:
chasing down the next page
Crick has written a page turnover of his own.

This biography details Archer's life to about the late 90's. It is fascinating to read how intriguing Archer's public and private lives were - and on many occasions even more interesting than his own novels.

Crick rights in a clear, direct style. The quality of the research is thorough, and reveals considerable work on his behalf to trawl through such a complicated life.

The many revelations that Crick reveals about Archer are sure to keep the reader chasing down the next page as I did with me.

An excellent read
A fantastic read for anyone interested in the many twists and tales of Archer's life.
Once you start reading you cannot leave the book down.
A truly wonderful piece of journalism from Michael Crick. This book allows the reader to get a peak at the real Jeffrey Archer the man who must in some respects be a PR man second to none. His whole life and that of his fathers before him has been a tangled web of half truths and out and out lies. The truth was sure to catch up with him sooner or later and this book sheds some light on the truth.
A classic of its genre
..Get a brilliant journalist to write a biography on the said Archer and you have arguably the finest tome of its kind, a classic of the genre.

Some would say that Crick's task was easy; after all, Archer's life has been as colourful as you can get. But one should dismiss such a view, as this surely undermines the remarkable research and unpretentious, but effective writing style...The book has been reprinted three times and will, doubtless, remain in print for as long as Archer is alive.

And, yes, as many have said before, the plot of Archer's life is more believable than any of his ficition, and that is why I believe that Crick's book should be turned into a film...

An interesting read, but no proof at all in key areas
A good read, more like a fiction book than most biographies. Crick sets the book up in the first half, but fails to deliver any facts that would substantiate his more serious accusations in the second half...
