Customer Reviews:
Love them Clones, but.........
This is a good continuation of the clone wars series, although some stories in the comic book are better than others, i.e. the origin of Palpatine and how he first became an senator for Naboo, also how he is gradually eroding the democratic capacity of the senate in favour of his centralised dictatorship and masking it very well with plot and counter plots.

This volume also introduces the idea that to some Jedi and senators have become privy to his underhand-ness, scheming and his "friendly" threats. Off course these minor irritations are taken care off. We also see the introduction of imperial guard or what they will later be known as.

The most disappointing part of the comic for me was also my most anticipated, leaving a great feeling of anticlimax, especially after the excellent first three quarters.
The story of Yoda's intervention in the Clone wars is quite honestly, rubbish. Although there is some typical Yoda-esec philosophising it does not take away from the fact that the illustration is poor, again after the sublime illustrations of the first half the last part is wanting. Also it stray's far to widely from accepted and statutory STAR WARS design i.e. some of the female Jedi are dressed up like Japanese school girls. This may be to curtain readers liking, but it is not to mine as I am a devote follower of the Dark Horse STAR WARS comic series.

To round up, in general the comic satisfies, and the final part does have it's charm.
I must say through the 5 volumes of this series a specific set of characters have become my favourite. And why shouldn't they, the whole series is named after them, the clones are brilliant. To emphasize, when a suicide mission is reaching it's unavoidable end, the clone commander asks his Jedi general for any last commands to which the jedi replies, "die well". In response the clone commander relays the order with typicall blankness, "copy that".
