Customer Reviews:
The epic series continues
If, perhaps, the series can be said to have peaked, in the last book, this set of stories maintains the quality, pace and excitement on that high plateau.

One (minor) gripe is in the editing of the stories into TPB form as this book contains `Paradiso'(3 parts), `The Writing on the Wall', `Purgatorio' (in 3 parts) and `Breaking & Entering'. This leaves the third part of the Divine Comedy (Inferno) until the next trade.
While the two one-shots are very good and appear in their original monthly sequence I can't help but think a single volume for the 3 main arcs would have been the way to go.

In Paradiso we see some of the characters from earlier arcs return with new alliances, seeking to thwart Lucifer and gain a foothold in his new cosmos. It also features fantastic writing and art with a truly surprising turn of events. I'll say no more.

`The Writing on the Wall' is a lovely little spin-off story about a female centaur. While it is mostly irrelevant in terms of the longer arc, despite the few panels where he appears, it serves to strongly reinforce and develop Lucifer's character.

`Purgatorio' follows on from `Paradiso' and sees some likely and unlikely allies come to his aid. But what can they do in the face of the seemingly unstoppable force that is the Basanos?

`Breaking & Entering' is another one-shot and is a comedy interlude following the recently introduced fallen cherubim Gaudium and his sister. These two are the C3PO and R2D2 of the series and a masterful inclusion that helps balance the weighty cosmic battles and metaphysical themes that the main story explores.

Overall this is a fantastic continuation of series which rivals Sandman.
Bigger and badder than God's Creation
Lucifer now has it all. He's set up his creation and opened doors so that anyone can enter. He has one simple commandment that his people must follow "Don't worship anything".

Anyway for those of you who have read the earlier Lucifer books (and you shoiuld really before reading this) the plots against Lucifer come to fruition. We discover why most of the characters are there - and even Death decides to get in on the act, although Lucifer is none too pleased I must say!

This is definitely the best fantasy comic series that I have seen since The Sandman was around - "Keep it coming" is all I can say!

A five star display of fantasy comic work.
