The funniest non-cook book ever.
|
Did you ever wonder what the film 'Carrie' would be like if it was cast with chickens rather than people? Naked chickens? No? Well take a look at this bizarre little book and you'll find out anyway.
"The Amazing Mackerel Pudding Plan" is a collection of Weight Watchers diet recipe cards from the 70s, hilariously annotated by Wendy McClure, the author. The 120-odd recipes themselves are (thankfully) never revealed, just the curiously photographed (Coffee lollies dumped on a vinyl floor, anyone?) finished articles themselves.
The book is extremely wittily written and will leave you giggling like a loon as anyone else in earshot looks at you in a "What the HECK are you reading?" kind of way. I doubt you'll lose any pounds making the meals, but you certainly won't regret spending a few on what is a truly hilarious curiosity. Heartily recommended!
