A wonderful trip for the ears and mind
|
This is a beautiful CD. As you shut your eyes, the music of Nawang Khechog brings the snow topped hills of Tibet to you, invoking calm and peace. It is a true reflection of the freedom that should be happening for Tibet. The music gives you a feeling of sadness as you think of how absurd it is that in this modern age a country cannot be free, and yet that feeling is overridden by a powerful underlying expression of unconditional love and compassion - the very power that will one day triumph in freeing Tibet and the Tibetan people.
He is a masterful musician and ambassador for his country, one of Tibet's foremost composers and musicians. The Dalai Lama features in some of the chants, although this CD is predominantly Tibetan flute, Tibetan Long Horn and African and Native American drums - it is a wonderful trip for the ears and mind, taking in the essence of the Tibetan tradition." Universal love" speaks of freedom, love and peace for mankind as we inhabit this planet of ours - the Tibetan flute on this CD embraces your soul and lifts your heart, it gives you hope and courage and keeps the fires of passion burning inside us; one day, hopefully soon, Tibet will be free and one of these tracks will almost certainly be the signature tune to mark that beautiful day.
