Customer Reviews:
Hunter for Dark Ages
Firstly, Dark Ages: Inquisitor isn't a core rule book. It doesn't contain playing systems and requires the use of Dark Ages: Vampire to integrate properly into games.

Knowing the above, I bought the book assuming that it would be an extended "enemy book" or similar. This couldn't be further from the truth; apart from the lack of "core rule book" status, Dark Ages: Inquisitor is a very complete game unto itself. Complete systems are given for character creation, along with a detailed expansion of holy powers (given briefly in other books as "True Faith"). Basically, this book is to Dark Ages what Hunter: The Reckoning was to the modern World of Darkness, and the expanded holy powers are akin to the Edges of modern imbued, only relying on Christian faith rather than mystical Messengers.

The book's design will be familiar to players of Mummy: The Resurrection, in that the book describes a whole new game system that is designed to run on the rules from another core book. Inside DA:Inquisitor are rules for creating many different types of character, with the usual clan-like or creed-like separation of different orders (five orders in total, each with different "chapters"). Antagonists are detailed from the point of view of the Christian church. The varied histories of the inquisitors are documented. New Traits and Virtues are described. Inspiring and eerie images run throughout.

Basically, this isn't just an enemy book for Dark Ages: Vampire. It's a complete game system, apart from the lack of basic rules. Have your copy of DA:Vampire at hand and you'll be running in-depth Inquisitor chronicles in no time.
