waste of money and time

i have read all the books written by ms barker as amanda ashley,an was looking forward to this one.but it let me down completely, i spent half hour skimming through the book which was more than enough to tell me that it was waste of time and money.it's basically a fantasy set around a healer and a tortured warrior.however while the storyline had potential, it was lost by the lack of attention paid to the settings. we are expected to believe that it's on a world of dragon and magic, however other than the usage of "thee" and "thou",there is no indication of this.while references were made to various interesting rituals and legends in order to add an atmosphere, however these were not explored further.this together with a weak storyline made it, very dry reading.i couldn't wait to put it away at the back of the shelf.if it's fantasy and magic you looking for, you are batter of with 'strands of gold' or the 'demon prince' by k.morgan
