OK, for preparing for exam
|
Used to pass my exam.
Good points
+ The Q+A in the book is very good, many of the questions are tougher than the real exam.
+ The simulations at the end of the Q+A are good to improve your your speed.
+Topics are explained well (apart from ISDN which I could not stay awake through). I still got 95% in the exam.
+ only study book used for this exam (although I did purchase extra exam questions from another vendoe, to get used to the format of the exam)
The bad points:
+ Check the errata on the web site, you need to make majo corrections to your book (this is normal with most tech documents, but this is the most I have ever seen in a book.)
+ If you have an early edition of the book, beware ! The chapter on OSPF has been rewritten (again check the web site, as you will need to print this out).
+ISDN what a boring chapter! This is not completely the fault of this book, but honestly I would recommened skim reading this chapter as it does not feature heavily in the exam.
+ Although the Q+A is good you need to purchase extra questions, to get used to the style and format of the exam. You will find the majority of questions on the exam are a bit easier and in a diffrent style.

The ideal CCNA book for that exam
|
|
When I purchased this book not to long ago and read a few chapters for the first time I was amazed to how much detail this book covers on all aspects of what the exam will cover, in terms of type of exam and type of questions. Plus also this book comes with a CD-ROM which produces past papers for you to study on. If anyone is taking the CCNA course BUY THIS BOOK because it will be your only friend when you need to get that extra edge when the exam is near and also purchase the quick reference CCNA guide as well.
