A fantasy thriller - how many of those have you read? The book combines otherworldly mysticism with very earthly questions of environmental destruction and divided personal loyalties. The central earthly theme of the bypass protest has obvious contemporary relevance, but the book's magic is in the entwinement of this story, and its protagonists, with the otherworld of the faeries and the dreamlike encounters of the "real" characters. Any more would be to give the plot away, so read this book, and prepare to look at Morris dancers in a new light!
