If you are new to analysis of survival data this book must be the definitive guide to learning methods involved. The book takes you through non-parametric tests, moving on the the semi-parametric Cox' proportional hazards model, and then to the parametric Weibull model for survival data. Model checking for these models and time-varying covariates are then discussed. Particularly useful is the final chapter which discusses applications of these methods using SAS, BDMP and SPSS software. The book goes into some detail on issues involved, but it is very easy to fish out the appropriate information quickly. Highly recommended.
