A very useful book, with tasty recipes

David Ricketts, the author, is a cookbook writer who was diagnosed with prostate cancer. He investigated a low-fat, high fibre, no-red-meat diet at the suggestion of one of his doctors. The diet he outlines is strict,but it is not as extreme as many cancer diets. It includes fish, alcohol, and even some desserts!
He has worked hard to include the foods most helpful in fighting this form of cancer, and all the recipes we have tried so far have been enjoyable. There are some difficulties, -some of the foods he mentions are unusual, and not all of them are easy to get hold of in Britain. His estimate of how long his recipes take to prepare has also proved somewhat optimistic. However, all the recipes we have tried have been tasty, and some of them are really special.
