My bookshelf is replete with 'Beginners Guides' which, alongside stunning photographs, tell you what can or needs to be done without actually telling you how to do it. Macro photography is often thought a 'black art', which accurately reflects the results the uninformed can get. Whilst the few photographs in this publication are largely uninspiring, it more than makes up by really telling you what equipment you will need, or how to get by with what you have already got, including the detailed exposure compensation calculations necessary. Overall, a more than adequate instruction book, and you wont need another unless you prefer pretty pictures to useful information.
