lovely but dated.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It has a nice range of photos from the photographer's personal collection, and describes how it is taken i.e. equipment positioning, how the expressions came about (though no mention of aperture or shutter speed). Also useful tips on working with babies & children, props, indoor/outdoor etc
The main problem I found with this book is that the photos look very dated, like from the 80's, also it is for film, not digital.
But it's a nice read all the same. For more on lighting, modern poses, detailed set ups (inc aperture/shutter speeds, I found the Lighting for Portrait Photography by Steve Bavister to be more up-to-date and varied.
However, this is a lovely book with some useful ideas and a heart.
