The essays are short and packed with useful, practical information supported by anecdotes about famous writers. Each page is colourfully decorated. This is quite a clever device. Instead of being a distraction, it helps the reader focus on the text.

It is extremely helpful for beginners but also contains plenty of ideas and information for experienced writers.

I will be keeping this book on my desk, alongside my dictionary and thesaurus.
