I've yet to find a book that can come close to C. J. J. Berry's 'First Steps in Winemaking', which is excellent for both beginner and established brewer alike. '125 Unusual Recipes' makes a good effort though, with a good introduction detailing techniques and equipment followed by a comprehensive list of weird and wonderful recipes which you are unlikely to encounter elsewhere else! One thing to be wary of is that the quantities given are in U.S. imperial measurers, which will require conversion to UK units if you intend to fill a 4.5 litre demijohn.
