Inspiring!

This is a book full of history and how the Salvation Army began. The passion and committment displayed by those early pioneers is inspiring. Despite persecution and setbacks, William Booth and his Army, faithfully served and loved those worse off than themselves. William Booth was a man with vision; one that could not be fulfilled in his lifetime or by himself. It is such an encouragement to see that even now, long after his death, the work of the Salvation Army is still going strong, bringing hope and dignity to the poor around the world. This is a great example of the Great Commission, being outworked; A call to "go into all the world and make disciples of all nations..." (Matthew 28). I would definately recommend this book to anyone who has an interest in history and/or a heart to work with the poor.
