Calle Del Marinero
|
|
This is a short estory in a epic tale. It is technologically the 3rd Vampirates book, but it is situated between the first and second book. It starts off with Bart, Connor and Jez taking a shore leave break. Those who have read the second Vampirates book will now know why this is a story in between. When the "three buccaneers" as they call themselves take a liking to Calle Del Marinero habour, with its ships all dressed out as shops and taverns, they stop off there. During there stay on board the Dirty Dolphin they run into a spot of trouble with a guy called Moonshine,( He's Connor's age roughly)and his two bodyguards they end up fleeing the harbour and jumping aboard a small vessel called the Lorelei. They are made to fell welcome by a girl called Kally who at first seems disabled. They met Kally earlier on, before they fled the Dirty Dolphin, in an arm wrestling match and Bart took a shine to her then. But now on board the Lorelei Bart becomes ever closer to kally and the trio soon finds out that the crew are not disabled but are in fact fishtails (mermaids). They head out to do some diving at Hell Bay. Bart is tricked into telling Connor and Jez that he wont go back to the Diablo he will stay and take over the Lorelei as its captain (Kally's father) is old and can't cope anymore. When Connor and Jez argue Bart seems to start to see sense. So three of the crew decide to dispose of Connor and Jez by taking them so far down when diving they can't come back up to breath, and then plan to say it was an accident. But not everything goes according to plan when a school of sharks appeares tearing one to shreds and the other two come face to face with Sidorio freshly banished from the Vampirate ship. Bart realises he has been tricked and dives down to save Connor only to find that Connors unconcious and worse yet Jez is still missing. Bart rushes up to the surface dragging Connor in his wake only to find that the Kally and her father will not help them back on board. Luckily for Bart though someone has been watching close by in a small rowing boat and comes to their aid in time. He pulls Bart on board with Connor and Bart finds that Jez has already been rescued and lies unconcious at the strangers feet. Bart soon falls down himself and the enigmatic Captain of the Vampirate crew sails them all to Calle Del Marinero. When the trio wake they cannot rememember what has happened and mysteriously even more they now each have three identical tatoos of three pirate swords, except for Bart who has the letter K on his.

Dead Brill
|
DEAD DEEP is only 69 pages long, but those 69 pages are pure brilliance.
Having read both DEMONS OF THE OCEAN and TIDE OF TERROR, I was excited at reading a tale set in-between these two amazing books. I pondered what the title could mean, conjuring images of pirates buried at sea rising from their watery grave... I was shocked by what actually happens. And shocked in a good way.
Connor, Bart and Jez- the Three Bucaneers - are on shore leave from The Diablo and spend their time in Calle de Merinero. A floating city of taverns. Soon, trouble occurs and the trio find themselves on the run. Luckily, they land on a ship where they think they are safe.
The Lorelei is captained by a new friends father. Kally is very much fancied by Bart and when they plan to go diving, trouble occurs again.
I don't want to spoil the book but I do have to say, it is brilliant with a great appearance of Sidorio.
Enjoy! I did.
P.S. Reader beware, it will make you crave for BLOOD CAPTAIN, the third book released later this year.
