Disappointing

I was looking for answers but this book didn't really help. More useful for school than home.

Best available guide - for adult tantrums too
For people struggling with Asperger-type tantrums/breakdowns/lock-ups/rage, this book offers many insights and strategies to understand, prevent and manage the behaviour. Highly recommended.

Not much for Parents or Partners, more for Teachers
A little misleading, in that the sub-title is 'Practical Solutions for Tantrums, Rage & Meltdown'. I was looking for something for Rage & Meltdowns in Adults as much as in Children, but when you get beyond the Introduction, the techniques are all aimed at in a Teacher-Pupil setting, less so in a Parent-Child or Partner-Partner setting? Only the last Chapter (10 pages) specifically addressed the role of Parents. What I did greatly benefit from was the first chapter (23 pages), which gave one of the most comprehensive descriptions and explanations of Aspergers I've read in any book.

When you have almost given up hope

I work with Asperger children and this book has certainly helped me deal with many a behaviour. I have and would recommend this book to anyone who has or works with AS children. It has given me hope and a better understanding of their limitations and allowed me to stretch my bounderies even further. I can only assure anyone reading this that this little book will give you strength to carry on, even when you think you cant take anymore.
