The truth is out there (though not in this book)
|
I bought this book because it was offered with Mystery Method and, having read The Game, I thought it couldn't hurt to hear it from another guru's point of view. After all, Style did it.
I was wrong.
My girlfriend disapproves of me reading books on pick-up, and the reason (apart from the obvious) is she thinks PUAs hate women. This is not the case with Mystery Method. Mystery Method is a way to be more fun, interesting and attractive around women. If these tactics were employed by all men, it would make men a much more attractive proposition for women and its techniques should be welcomed.
Ross Jefferies does appear at times to hate women. Page 54, Paragraph 8 reads:
"Oh, the joy of battle, my borthers! Flushing a chick down the toilet of humiliation is almost as great a kick as scoring!"
He unapologetically loves sex, but occasionally uses it to punish women he has labelled as unworthy. He writes:
"To aid you in detection, I've designed what I call rather modestly the JEFFRIES UPRIGHT/UPTIGHT SCALE. It allows you to quickly size up a girl to let you know if she's got relationship potential or if she deserves no more than having one of the "quick-lay" strategies pulled on her."
I found this man abhorrent, not least of all for the spelling mistakes, poor editing and cheap paper in this book, which gives it the ironic appearance of a Christian pamphlet.
The one redeeming feature of this book, that which salvaged an extra star from me, is the brief description of neurolinguistic programming. I know he uses this technique for Speed Seduction and there is enough on it in this book to pique my interest and make me want to learn more.
In short, do not buy this book if you are an aspiring PUA. Read it only as an insight into the mind of one of the original gurus as he was in 1988. It is useless beyond that.

Absolute rubbish!

I am astonished and confused by the positive reviews written above.
This book looks as tawdry as it reads. The type font is thoroughly amateurish and makes you immediately think that you have bought something that can only have been self-published.
The author's writing style is rather poor and he comes across as little more than a bitter woman-hater.
He has one or two good ideas alongside some truly awful ones - the 'I'm your secret admirer,' T-shirt one was particularly unimpressive and the fact that he then went on to offer sell me one made me laugh. This suggestion was not his worst, however; breaking down in tears when a woman refuses to kiss you has to take that honour.
As for the NLP and hypnosis techniques... hmm!
This book has one saving grace - it is cheap.

One of the best on the market today!
|
|
"How to get the Women..." is one of the best picking up guides available on the market today. It has precise practices you can apply to real life sitations and seems to be written by someone who knows how to get what you want. The advice was also less heavy-handed than some I've read recently, and doesn't seem to have any of the crassiness of other books. Highly recommened to those who want a better quality of life and dating life as well. Also recommended: "Get Laid Now!", another one of the better advice books as well.

original idea, disappointing result
|

Why not apply modern communication techniques to seduction? This book instantly caught my interest for this obvious yet so far untried idea. Finding great pleasure in communicating, and particularly in interacting with the charming half of humanity, I found this book too interesting to resist buying. It is for that originality alone that I will grant it two crowns. Beyond that, I find it a shattering disappointment. If you need more confidence for approaching women, then you need more confidence in general. The author seems to display self-confidence in abundance, but that alone won't help any reader. Far better guides for this end would be 'Awaken the Giant Within' by Anthony Robbins or 'Frogs into Princes' by Richard Bandler and John Grinder. For actually researched information about the psychology of seduction it is a better idea to turn to 'How to Make Anyone Fall in Love with You' by Leil Lowndes. What irritated me most is the author's treatment of Neurolinguistic Programming. This useful set of methods the author uses rather unconvincingly. I say that by comparing this book to other works, e.g. to 'Trance-Formations' by Bandler and Grinder, who actually use the very same communication techniques they are teaching. If you work in sales or training or in any other occupation that requires accomplished communication competence and then take a look into this work, you will be unimpressed, possibly even disgusted. If you have no such previous knowledge and wish to have more interaction skills with women, then there are infinetely better sources than this one. Better than reading a book at home however, is to go out, remind yourself that women have a need for communication, too, and then talk with them like the interesting people we all are.

THE MANUAL for all guys
|
|
Hey this is powerful stuff, I think there is a tendancy to 'not believe' because the method is so simple. Well it is that way with so many things in life, the enlightened smile to them quietly basking in the knowledge of how trivially simple it all is. While the unenlightened, however, are still scratching their heads -trying to work out the connection that links to relativity. Firstly, you must try it and adapt it to your own personality. There are many eye openers in this book, i'm sure all guys could take onboard something that provides a positive benefit to them. Some may not like Ross' style, indeed if you are a overly 'nice guy' you may feel offended. Don't be, remember you can take on board whatever serves you and adapt the rest. Piece :-)
