Excellent Book, well written, detailed and good photography

Having known very little about the Porsche 917, except that it had been described as "One of the best racing cars of all time" I wanted to know a little more.
This book contains a wealth of information starting from the very beginning of the 917 program. All of the history is covered in this book. The specifications for the various incarnations of the 917 are included. Each chapter covers a different part of the car from its engine to the aerodynamics, transmission to the suspension and brakes. Each chapter contains quality photographs of the car and relevant parts, engineering drawings, test records, specifications and the history of how everything was created and why. Along with this, is the history of the people behind the 917 and the men who drove it.
This book is a must for anyone interested in Porsche racing cars particularly the 917. It isn't often you find a book as thorough and detailed about a race car as this. Highly recommended.
