Not for the qualified
|
Having recently qualified as an elecrician (C&G2330 & 2381) I thought this book would be useful in giving really good practical advice on installing systems. Unfortunately, it is a poor summary of BS7671 and, even though I have little practical experience as yet, there was nothing in this book I did not already know. If NICEIC had thought this might be an alternative to the On Site Guide they are very much mistaken; in fact the OSG makes this book unnecessary and irrelevant. I recognise it could be informative to an unqualified person but in that case they should not be attempting much of what is described in this book - Collins New Complete Wiring & Lighting or similar would be much more informative as well as much cheaper. This book is not for the qualified or those already experienced in installation work: BS7671 and the On Site Guide are all you need.
If you are a contractor you will find no use for this book and will regret buying it!
