Florist

This is a contemporary book which shows alternatives to the hand tied posies which have been so popular. There are a wide range of bouquets shown, some of which are very technical and others which are very simple. This is s book for brides who want something a little different to show their individuality. There are not many pages which show how to make the individual bouquets but all the materials used are listed to make it easier for the designer. This book shows you clearly what a vast choice there is available for your wedding if you dare! snd is positively bursting with scrumptious ideas. The authors are well known for their floristry both in the UK and abroad.

when the book arrived i was a little disappointed. yes, i did want a book on unusal floristry and it's techniques but i also wanted the flowers that the book included to be striking and exceptional but they were neither. i had a couple of my friends look through the book who are getting married soon. they politely told me that they wouldn't dream of carriying anything from that book on their wedding day, as most of the work just looked scruffy.
granted from a florist point of view some of the work is clearly beautifully and artistically done but not many brides want to take risks with their flowers. so maybe modern twists on usable bouquets would have worked better. also some of the techniques weren't explained.

Amateur florist

A book full of pretty pictures and very little of the important instructive content. The authors neglected to take into account that not everyone who buys their book is a professional florist. Maybe they intended it as a reference for a bride to bring to a professional florist, either way it was grossly misleading.

An amazingly fresh look at sympathy floristry, some extremely simple, some extremely difficult designs, but all look stunning with beautiful photography. This is an invaluble book to have to hand when doing funeral work for young people (or men) as a lot of the designs are simple and unfussy, which makes them appropriate. There is a section at the back which explains how to acheive some of the techniques used, a lot of them are harder than they look, but its worth it when you see the finished piece. All in all a very informative, and very, very inspirational book. A must have!!
