What a fantastic book and CD!

I felt I just had to write after reading a one star review. I bought this book/CD set a few months ago and both myself and baby (14 months) love it to bits. I didn't recognise most of the songs- great to have new material as well as the old. You can just sing along (great songs sung at thge right speed)- or it's possible to interact with your child with almost all songs- from playing peekaboo for the young ones to them using an instrument in time. My baby's already doing some of the actions herself when she hears the music. I'm a primary teacher and, would use some of the songs and musical activities with 4-6 year olds, too. I'm back on to buy one for a friend with new baby. Everyone should have a copy. I think I've said enough!

a great buy , beautiful singing , male and female voices, and none of that arwful busy background noise you all ways find on childrens discs.

and so do I. A mixture of familiar and unfamiliar songs, with good suggestions for actions. Useful for the very young too. It would be nice to have backing music contained on the CD in addition to demos, but on the whole an appealing collection that has clearly been tried and tested on real live children!

My little girl, Jemma (11 months), loves these songs! I¹m so pleased to have found traditional songs, played and sung so beautifully. I¹ve found it really hard to find music for children that really appreciates that children deserve good music. The cd has loads of action songs, and the booklet that goes with it has actions depending on the age of the child, great ideas for making instruments out of junk, and useful stuff on setting up your own local babies and toddler music group. My daughter goes to a music play session once a week with her dad and really enjoys it. I hope this cd and booklet will inspire people to set up more music groups.

We bought this tape and book pack when our daughter was only 6 months old - far too young to start the actions, but we played the tape regularly for her to listen to. 12 months on, she now laughs with delight every time she hears the music - firstly because it is so familiar, and also because now she can enjoy and join in with the actions - peekaboo, tickling songs, bouncing, fingerplays, lullabies - they've all been thought of. Many familiar tunes are sung by both male and female voices, with or without instruments, and some more unusual songs also soon become favourites. None of them are particularly long, which means a total of 52 songs on the tape maintains interest and is very good value. Buy it - I have, for many of my friends with children !
